Forget the rest.... WINE TASTING

Sanctuary of Zeus
In order to indulge ourselves later on, we actually had to get some learnin' done that day. So we went to Nemea.

Nemea was home to the Nemean Lion, who was slain by Herakles (or Hercules for those not in the know).

It was also the place where the baby Opheltes was killed by a snake while he was lying on a bed of parsley. The Nemean Games were then founded in his memory. During the games, the judges wore black robes as a sign of mourning. The winner also received a crown made out of parsley.

After checking out the temple, we headed on over to the stadium. Photo-recap time!

Then, at the stadium... we raced:

ReadysetGO!

Then, after all that nonsense, we got to go wine tasting!!!!! Which was by far the best noneducational portion of our tour.

You can blame my parents for my love of wine

Who knew wine could be so nerdy?
I want to go to there

Ah, yes, that would be me. In heaven.
After we left my happy place, we also left mainland Greece to go to Crete. Unfortunately that meant we had to take an overnight ferry. These were our quarters:

Needless to say, I don't think anyone slept very well that night... which made the next day somewhat of a blur. ....
